Welcome to the AABC's Year at a Glance Calendar

January - December 2025

Lots of things are always happening "behind the scenes" at the AABC thanks to the hard work of our volunteers and contractors! Here's a glimpse to keep you updated so that you can plan to attend events or as a reminder to add something to your calendar. More information about the different professional development events, conferences, and Archives Awareness Week can be found on their specific pages on the AABC website. 

To note:

  • The AABC Executive meets on a monthly basis via Zoom.
  • The Indigenous Advocacy Committee and the AABC Programs Committee meet on a monthly basis via Zoom.
  • The AABC fiscal calendar runs April 1 - March 31.
  • This is an organic timeline and dates/events will be updated as finalized.

January 2025

  • Distance education course registration: “Managing Plans and Drawings” ends (Jan 3).

  • Distance education course: “Managing Plans and Drawings” starts (Jan 6).

  • Contractors/volunteers submit “wish lists” for budget planning. Programs committee reviews.


April 2025

  • Membership renewal period.

  • Distance education course: “Managing Moving Images and Sound Records” starts (April 7).

  • Annual General Meeting (April 24).

  • AABC/YCA Joint Conference Committee meeting.


July 2025

  • Summer Newsletter to be published.

  • AABC/YCA Joint Conference Committee meeting.

October 2025

  • AABC/YCA Joint Conference (Sept 30-Oct 2).
  • Archives Awareness Week planning.
  • Distance education course: registration opens for “Oral History: From Theory to Practice” (Oct 1).
  • Anti-Racism Bursary application opens (Oct 1-Nov 1).

February 2025

  • Distance education course registration: "Managing Moving Images and Sound Records" starts (Feb 1-March 10).

  • Anti-Racism Bursary application open (Feb 1-March 1).

  • Webinars: Indigenous Genealogy Research (Feb 10-11). 

  • Roundtea: South Asian Canadian Digital Archive (Feb 25).

  • Draft AABC budget for 2025-2026 created and reviewed.

  • AABC/YCA Joint Conference Committee meeting.


May 2025

  • Membership renewal period.
  • Executive transition meeting.

    August 2025

    • Distance education course: registration closes for “Managing Archives” (Aug 11).

    November 2025

    • Annual AABC Roundtable meeting (Executive, Committees & Contractors).
    • BC Archives Awareness Week (Nov 16-22).

    • Distance education course: “Managing Archives” ends (Nov 17).



      March 2025

      • AABC membership renewal letters sent, membership year April 1, 2025 – March 31, 2026.
      • Distance education course: “Managing Plans and Drawings” course ends (March 17).

      • Membership renewal period.

      • End of 2024-2025 AABC fiscal year.

      • Executive approves new budget for 2025-2026 fiscal year.

      • AABC/YCA Joint Conference Committee meeting.


      June 2025

      • Distance education course: “Managing Moving Images and Sound Records" ends (June 16).

      • Distance education course: registration opens for “Managing Archives” (June 1).

      • Anti-Racism Bursary application opens (June 1 - July 1).

      • AABC/YCA Joint Conference Committee meeting.


      September 2025

      • AABC/YCA Joint Conference (Sept 30-Oct 2).
      • Archives Awareness Week planning begins.

      • Distance education course: “Managing Archives” starts (Sept 8).

      • EAS Advisor visit to UBC iSchool to meet new archives students.


      December 2025

      • Grant planning and writing.
