AABC signs BCLA & BCMA Memorandum of Understanding
The AABC is excited to share the news of our partnership with colleagues in the Gallery, Library and Museum professions. On March 24, 2017 representatives from each of the organizations met and signed a three year MOU that encourages our united members to participate in activities between the organizations and share information between professionals and institutions.

BC Museum Week: BCMA webinar, "For Future Consideration" (May 15, 2020)
For nearly two months museums across the country have shut their doors due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Now as provinces prepare to reopen many museums are exploring what the future looks like for them. Join the BCMA, Jon Tupper (Art Gallery of Greater Victoria), Kate Kerr (Emily Carr House), Lisa Glandt (Archives Association of BC), and Tracy Calogheros (The Exploration Place) for Museum Week, as we discuss the current climate our industry has found itself in and the pathways forward.
The webinar recording is available.
“Value Study of GLAMs in Canada” a study commissioned by the Canadian Museums Association (CMA) on behalf of the Ottawa Declaration Working Group. The research was conducted by Oxford Economics and was supported by Canadian Heritage, the McConnell Foundation, and Ms. Rosamund Ivey. This is the first time that a study of this scope—covering the entire GLAM sector—has been conducted in Canada. The study was published in December 2019.
A toolkit was one of the first priorities identified - a living document of templates and resources to assist individual members to grow existing partnerships and to create new ones within their communities. Join David Alexander (Past President, BCMA), Daniel Collins (Member at Large, AABC) and Daphne Wood (Past President, BCLA) to see a first look at this toolkit, and share your feedback about the contents and structure of this key resource. The webinar on YouTube can be found here.
